Woolfox Golf Club Raises £3,200 for Melton Community First Responders

Woolfox Golf Club proudly announces the successful fundraising of £3,200 in support of Melton Community First Responders, a volunteer-led organisation providing vital emergency assistance across the local community.

The cheque was formally presented by Kevin Baker, Woolfox Golf Club Captain for 2025, to Ina Scott of Melton Community First Responders.

As Captain, Kevin selected the group as his chosen charity, recognising the essential, life‑saving service the Responders provide to residents across the region.

Throughout 2025, Kevin and the Woolfox Golf membership raised funds through a series of events and initiatives.

Highlights included:

• Captain’s Day, featuring 19 teams of four players competing for a wide range of prizes generously donated by local businesses, including:

  • Money‑off vouchers from The Stilton Cheese, Somerby and The Harboro Hotel, Melton Mowbray

  • Cider donations from Cidentro Cider, Twyford

  • Beauty vouchers from Tiger Lilli Beauty, Grantham and Aesthetic Lodge, Melton Mowbray

  • Golf vouchers from Thorney Lakes, Rutland Water, and Stoke Rochford Golf Courses

  • A complimentary golf lesson from Nick Garland, Club Professional at Woolfox Golf Club

• 72 holes in a day by Kevin supported by numerous club members

• Club competition entry fees, with a percentage allocated to the fundraising total

• “Bunker donations”, where players contributed each time they landed in one of the course bunkers

• A dedicated GoFundMe page, supported warmly by friends, family, and the wider community

Speaking at the presentation, Kevin Baker expressed his gratitude to everyone who donated, contributed prizes, and took part in the events. He said: “I’m incredibly proud of how our members and local businesses came together to support such a worthwhile cause. Melton Community First Responders make a real difference in urgent, life‑critical situations, and it’s been an honour to help raise funds for their work.”

Melton Community First Responders will use the donation to support equipment, training, and operational costs essential to their emergency response efforts.
